Mattress covers: preventing asthma and allergies in children
There is nothing more frightening for new parents the idea that your child may be sick. Although most parents do well to keep their children away from the common cold and flu germs, does not take into account all household allergens may have effect on the newborn. Common respiratory symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, cough and difficulty breathing are often examples of allergic rhinitis, or respiratory allergies, and are caused by a single factor in the child. Mites, pet hair, mold, pollen, children can develop allergies to a number of things every day. Luckily, removing allergens and thus preventing or reducing allergic reactions can be a very simple process. The most important part of the process, however, is knowing what you're facing.
It 'important to understand what respiratory allergens, if you expect your child to protect them. Allergy is an immune reaction to an irritable substance in the child. The body of the boy, believed that these symptoms of discomfort, as reported irritants and hazardous chemicals such as histamine, which cause potentially harmful. While a child can develop immunity to these irritants, untreated or ignored symptoms of allergies can lead to respiratory problems like asthma and emphysema.
The most common allergens are dust mites, animal dander and mold. Dust mites are microscopic organisms that live in carpets and fabrics and feed the dead flakes of human skin and animal. Children can develop respiratory allergies from inhaling accumulated mites in areas that are not cleaned properly or regularly. Blankets, clothes and blankets should be washed in hot water at least once a week. For additional protection, cribs and beds should be covered with a waterproof coating mattress. These covers act as a barrier between the child and causing allergic to dust mites. It 'also important to vacuum and dust weekly, a vacuum cleaner with a high efficiency particulate arrest (HEPA) filter helps trap dust particles and regular vacuuming can miss. It 'also important to clean or replace heating ducts, ovens and filters for air conditioning when in use.
Stuffed animals and plush toys can also be a haven for dust mites. Be sure to wash your child's favorite toys plush as often as you would with your clothes and bed linen.
Pet dander is another common household allergen. Unfortunately, the safe way to fire only to protect your child from dander is to give the animal. This can often be very difficult and painful, but if an allergic reaction is severe, the child may be the only option. If the child has only a mild allergy can be considered simply keeping the animal well-groomed, shampoo, furniture and outside the nursery.
Mold is a versatile allergen and, especially, bothersome. Mold can grow in closets, attics, basements, containers, refrigerators, showers, garbage cans, mattresses, carpets, almost all the hot, humid area in the house. Mold spores are caused by mold uses to reproduce. These spores can cause health problems. The best way to prevent mold growth is to keep the air in problem areas of your home dry. A dehumidifier can help keep the air dry in winter, while a good air conditioner can achieve the same effect in the summer. Maintenance of high risk areas is also important to clean the mold to inhibit the use of disinfectants such as bleach or tea tree oil and water.
Of course, respiratory symptoms should be examined by the doctor of your child. Most doctors do not prescribe medication allergies to infants, especially children younger than six months but which may have treatment options that best fit the specific problem your child's allergy.
It is fairly easy to determine whether the child has a tendency to be allergic. Allergic tendencies are inherited, though specific allergies are not. If you or your partner is allergic to cats, for example, your child will have the opportunity to fifty percent of developing an allergy like that, though not necessarily to cats. Allergies also take a while 'to develop. Infants may not have symptoms of allergic reactions for some months and then, suddenly, the level of reduced exposure to mites, mold or dander will reach its limit and the child begins to develop symptoms.
Baby allergies can be a terrifying experience for parents, especially if they are not prepared for them. The best way to help treat allergies is to avoid before the child is still in hospital. Clean and disinfect the areas the newborn will occupy, invest in proper ventilation and symptoms of depression, and to keep the clothes and linen washed regularly and protected with waterproof covers. Caring for a newborn can produce a series of unexpected obstacles, but with proper preparation, common household allergens do not need to be one of them.
