Can a HEPA Vacuum Cleaner for your health?

HEPA filters were originally developed in 1940 and used in the Manhattan Project to prevent the spread of radioactive contaminants on board. After 1950, the HEPA filters were later commercialized and the term has become well-known mark as a generic term for any high efficiency filter. Over the years, because of the need for quality improvement in various sectors such as aerospace, pharmaceutical processing and healthcare, HEPA filters became commonly used in these areas to help remove particles suspended in air, as dust, hair, mold and asbestos.
To be considered a true HEPA filter, a filter must be able to remove at least 99.97% of particles small as 0.3 microns. The particles of this size are more difficult to filter, and are therefore considered the most penetrating particle size, or Mpps. HEPA filters consist of a mat of fibers arranged at random and trap small particles are directed to one of three mechanisms:
1. Interception – When the particles follow a line of flow in the air within a radius of a fiber and sticks to it.
2nd Impact – When large particles can not avoid the HEPA fibers and are forced to imbed one, which increases with the decrease of fiber separation and increased air flow.
3rd Diffusion – A mechanism to improve the result of collisions with the molecules of gas by small particles, which have hampered and delayed by the fiber HEPA.
Therefore, because of higher capacity HEPA filtration filters, which are very effective in removing particles of air and surfaces such as carpets and upholstery, and its use can help to keep the air we breathe significantly healthier. Because our internal environment contains allergens, chemicals, gases, dust mites, mold and other harmful microorganisms, the struggle of the airways and suffer every day from these harmful pollutants. Poor air quality can also cause symptoms such as itching eyes, headaches, digestive problems, fatigue, congestion, and many other chronic and acute diseases. In fact, studies have shown that more than one in three adults, child, infant or suffers from allergies, asthma or respiratory disease, and now, asthma is a major cause of illness of the upper respiratory tract in children.
Today, most of the HEPA filters can be found in air purification systems and vacuum cleaners. HEPA vacuum cleaners use HEPA filters, as part of the filtering process, and are very positive for asthma and allergies, such as HEPA media is able to capture fine particles that can trigger allergy and asthma symptoms. A HEPA filter in a vacuum to be effective in reducing particulate matter, the vacuum must be designed so that all air is sucked into the machine through the filter, without air leaks past. Moreover, because of the density of a HEPA filter, a HEPA vacuum cleaner will have a more powerful engine to provide enough power to clean it.
There are essentially two types of HEPA vacuum cleaners: boat upright. HEPA vacuum cleaners are generally smaller vessels, the largest number of cases that can roll along behind you and in a vacuum carpets, furniture or floor. A long tube connected to a HEPA vacuum tube will help you clean hard to reach places. HEPA filter vacuums often feature removable carpet beaters that are more powerful than upright HEPA vacuum cleaners. When the electric motor powered by a vacuum cleaner carpet beater boat stops working, the unit can be used for cleaning other surfaces. In general, for families with floors and almost no steep areas, vacuum filter can help to move smoothly from one area to another without scratching your floors.
On the other hand, upright HEPA vacuum in one unit that may or may not come with a hose attachment to help clean the hard to reach areas with specialized vacuum. Vertical HEPA vacuum cleaners can lose air in the house, and the carpet beater bar is permanently attached to the vacuum case, once this component is damaged, the vacuum will be replaced. However, if your house is nearly vertical carpet traditional HEPA vacuum can be a better choice, because its better beater bar rotation of the earth and dust embedded below the surface of your carpet.
As for the differences in design, which are different types of HEPA filter available blank, with the most common are cases of use of disposable plastic unit, with lots of dust collector plastic that is used to capture dust from the carpet and empty. Note that with this type of models, still dusty air leaks through gaps in the plastic, and even the gas passes through the exhaust and back into the family environment.
When choosing a HEPA vacuum, be sure to pay attention also to the power of the model, as it is appreciated for their strong aspiration in inches of water lift and airflow (in cfm). All this with a CFM or greater than 90 is considered a powerful and effective model to remove contaminants from your home. We also hope that the position of the HEPA filter is located. HEPA filter vacuum cleaner can be placed before or after the engine, and some studies have suggested that a filter after the capture of the engine can help to fine carbon dust that is generated by the engine vacuum. Strong seal to prevent leakage are also extremely important that the gaps in post-motor filters. However, if you choose a HEPA filter or vertical load, the security that can help to remove dust and hair from home, and to alleviate their symptoms of asthma induced.
